10_Annotating: Selecting Time Intervals

This blogpost will cover the selection of time intervals

Time intervals (also referred to as selections, intervals) can be created within the timeline viewer by dragging the crosshair from one point to another. When dragging the crosshair to create an interval it will be highlighted in light blue.

Once a selection has been created, the main media controls can be used to add or subtract from that selection (e.g., one second, frame or pixel forward or backwards). In addition, the selection media controls can be used to navigate through the selection (e.g., to the left or right, to play and clear the selection (please refer to ‘blogpost 08’ for further details on media playback controls).

The time stamps for each selected time interval are  displayed on the timeline, above the crosshair, as well as above the ‘play selection’ button – including the range (e.g., 00.00.00 – 00.00.10) and total duration (e.g., 10041). These are displayed in milliseconds (i.e., 10000 msec = 10-seconds).
